JOIN THE CONVERSATION

What if God is speaking to you?

I'm going to let you in on a personal secret. It's about something I have been doing for years, but quietly, secretly, and rather protectively. It's not scandalous and it may even sound ridiculous but I am a writer who doesn't let people read what she writes. Until now.

Have you ever wondered what God has to say about you? Better yet, have you ever considered that He might have something to say to you?

Over the years I have filled volumes of journals recording the struggle and the excitement of discovering who God is and if it is even possible to know Him. Like, really know Him - here, now, in this life (before we enter glory and we don't even have to ask those kinds of questions anymore). I have asked questions like, 'Does God want to know me?', 'Is God talking to me?', 'What does God's voice sound like?' and 'Am I talking to myself?' (laughably the most common question!)

God has something to say

To my surprise, what I have come to learn and experience is God's incredible love, grace and sense of humour in the creative ways in which He speaks to us. He always has something to say, but unlike the writer in me who didn't want to share publicly what I had written privately, God wants His heart to be shared and His voice to be heard.

"I have not spoken in secret, from somewhere in a land of darkness; I have not said ... ‘Seek me in vain.’ I, the Lord, speak the truth; I declare what is right." Isaiah 45:19

It's kind of a relief, don't you think, to find that not only will God speak to us personally, but what He has to say is honest-to-goodness good for us.

Are we listening?

Do we recognise His voice when He speaks?

Will we like what He has to say after all!?

Writing has always been a way for me to engage in the Word and words of God in a personal way. It has been a tool to make sense of the words from songs, themes, scriptures, stories, and images that God uses to speak to ALL OF US.

People are having spiritual experiences all the time, yet, many of us are asking the same questions and navigating the same challenges when it comes to hearing from God.

Maybe that includes you?

What if, instead of privately trying to figure it all out on your own, you join a conversation with others about hearing from God in everyday moments.

Whether you are cautious, confident, or just curious about the possibility of hearing from God, I invite you to join the conversation. Hint.Holler is full of practical encouragement as we study scriptures, listen to stories, and share experiences that help us learn how to discern the voice of God and discover the wonder of walking with the Holy Spirit.

So make yourself a cuppa (it's a thing) and take a seat.

It's time for a chat.

Rachel
